Meet Our New Members: The Milling Family

 |  Meet Our New Member  |  Mary Splawn

Have you met the Milling family? JoJo and Kyle joined Mountain Brook Baptist on February 11, 2024. They have a daughter named Elle. We hope you'll get to know them a little better through this latest "Meet Our New Member" blog, and that you'll have the chance to connect with them one Sunday in worship.

Tell us about your family. We met at Auburn University, and have been married for six years. We have a 16-month-old daughter, Elle, and a five-year-old English Springer Spaniel (Milo) who we adore

Where do you work and where did you go to school? Kyle serves as Vice President of Finance for Wildcat Oil Tools, a provider of oilfield equipment services. JoJo is currently a homemaker, but is a kindergarten teacher by trade. She spent a total of six years teaching, starting at Woodward Academy in Atlanta, and then at Trinity School of Midland in Midland, Texas.

What led you to Mountain Brook Baptist Church? When we moved to Crestline, we wanted to find our church family in the community. From our first visit we were greeted and made to feel at home. Sharon and Amy did an amazing job staying in frequent contact with us, getting us connected to church events and members, and ensuring that Elle was involved in the Children’s Ministry. We love that Elle will grow in her faith surrounded by such a wonderful and supportive community.

What is your favorite hymn or praise song? JoJo: My favorite praise song is "My Savior, My God" by Aaron Shust. The song starts off with, “I am not skilled to understand what God has willed what God has planned. I only know at his right-hand stands one who is my Savior.” This reminds me how much I truly rely on the Lord and can find comfort that he has it all figured out. Kyle: My favorite praise song is "Because He Lives." When life is difficult, it’s comforting to know that Jesus has our lives in his hands, and that things will be the way he has planned.

What are some of your hobbies and interests? We enjoy all things Auburn, traveling new places, and spending time at the lake.
