Meet Our New Members: The Jewell Family

Have you met the Jewell family? Elizabeth and Chris joined our church on November 12, 2023 and they have two children, Kathleen and Blake. We hope you'll get to know them a little better through this latest "Meet Our New Member" blog, and that you'll have the chance to connect with them one Sunday in worship.
Tell us about your family. Chris grew up in Dothan and is an Auburn University graduate, while Elizabeth was raised in Huntsville and graduated from the University of Alabama. We have two children: Kathleen (age 8) who is in second grade at MBE and Blake (age 4) who is in 3K at the ELC.
Where do you work? Chris is a CPA at SCA Health and Elizabeth is a homemaker after working almost a decade at Samford.
What led you to Mountain Brook Baptist Church? Our family was led to MBBC because of the welcoming staff and church community who share our core values. Both our children attended the ELC so they are comfortable and at home at MBBC.
What is your favorite Bible passages and favorite praise song? Proverbs 3:5-6 and “In This Very Room”
What are some of your hobbies and interests? Elizabeth and I enjoy cooking and traveling. We are both avid sports fans—who cheer for teams on opposite sides of the state, making football season extra exciting! But at this stage in life, our hobbies typically surround our children—ballet, piano, soccer, golf, t-ball, and sports in general!
What is a fun fact other people may not know about you? Elizabeth and I met on the first day of our accounting internships at Ernst & Young (EY) Birmingham in 2011.
