Meet Our New Members: Ada Burris & Payton Ahlemeyer

Have you met Ada Burris and Payton Ahlemeyer? They joined our church on February 15, 2026. We hope you'll get to know them a little better through this latest "Meet Our New Member" blog, and that you'll have the chance to connect with them one Sunday in worship.
Tell us about your family. We will be getting married in August at MBBC and are so excited to start our lives together! Ada works as a student ministry resident here at the church, and Payton is about to start his job as an accountant at RSM.
Where did you work or go to school? Ada is an MDiv student at Beeson Divinity School, and she is about to finish her second year. Payton is about to graduate with a master's in tax accounting from Alabama.
What led you to Mountain Brook Baptist Church? Ada started working at MBBC last summer and has loved getting to know the students and families who make this place so special! Payton started coming shortly after that, as he and Ada met, and he has gotten involved with the Young Professionals, handbells, and Sanctuary Choir!
What is your favorite hymn? We both love "Be Thou My Vision" and plan to sing it at our wedding.
What are some of your hobbies and interests? We love to play pickleball together; we actually played on our first date! We also both enjoy playing board games and cooking together.
What is a fun fact other people may not know about you? On the night we met, we found out that both of our families have a tradition where we eat breakfast at IHOP on Christmas Eve. We look forward to continuing this tradition with our own family!
