Meet Our New Member: Tara Ingram
| Meet Our New Member | Mary Splawn

Have you met Tara Ingram? Tara joined our church on September 28. We hope you'll get to know her a little better through this latest "Meet Our New Member" blog, and that you'll have the chance to connect with her one Sunday in worship.
Tell us about your family. I'm married to Wayne Ingram, and we recently welcomed our first child, Virginia Brooks Ingram, in March. We also have a 3-year-old yellow lab named Todd. My parents, Victoria and Brooks Henderson, also recently joined the church!
Where do you go to work? I work at Savant Wealth Management as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®).
What led you to Mountain Brook Baptist Church? My husband Wayne is a big part of what led me to Mountain Brook Baptist. Wayne Splawn was Wayne's youth minister growing up, and he guided us through premarital counseling and officiated our wedding. As I became more involved at MBBC, I felt so welcomed and known by the church leadership and the families within the congregation. We continue to feel connected and supported through our Grace Group Sunday School, couples' small group, and Virginia Brooks' ELC class.
What is your favorite Scripture passage and favorite hymn? My favorite Scripture passage is Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” Since having Virginia Brooks, the Doxology has become even more special to me. At night, I'll sing it over Virginia Brooks as we put her to bed. It's also meaningful to know that every Sunday we'll sing the Doxology together with our church family.
What are some of your hobbies and interests? I love planning a trip! Two of my recent favorites were traveling across Italy and Spain and hiking the "Mighty 5" out west. When I'm not planning our next adventure, I'm usually walking, attempting to beat Wayne at golf, or hosting friends and family on our patio.
What is a fun fact other people may not know about you? Wayne and I technically met when I was in 7th grade and he was in 9th grade. He gave my orientation group a tour of Mountain Brook Junior High, and thankfully, he doesn't remember! I didn’t confess this until our third date, but he suspected something when he picked me up for our first date and said, "Nice to meet you," and I responded, "Great to see you."
