Have you met Lauren Gatch? Lauren joined our church on Sunday, August 3. We hope you'll get to know her a little better through this latest "Meet Our New Member" blog, and that you'll have the chance to connect with her one Sunday in worship.
Tell us about your family. I’m an only child. My mom (Fran) is retired from ministry. My dad ( Michael) works in chaplaincy and hospital ethics at UAB hospital. We live in the suburbs of Birmingham.
Where do you go to school? I’m currently working part-time on getting my second masters degree at Beeson Divinity School in Christian counseling. My hope is to be working with women or young girls.
What led you to Mountain Brook Baptist Church? Personal friendships, and coming and visiting for myself
What are your favorite Bible verses and favorite hymn? My favorite Bible verses are Romans 8:38-39 - nothing can separate us through the Lord Jesus Christ. My favorite hymn is "In Christ Alone."
What are some of your hobbies and interests? I’m a very big film fanatic! I love to read novels! Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë is my favorite! I enjoy walking and working out.
What is a fun fact other people may not know about you? I absolutely love giraffes!
